Editing a course mainly involves editing various "Course settings". These can be related to layout (how the things appear to the participants in a course), user permissions settings and other activities that may be required to specify the state of the Course. This page describes all of the Editing activities and Roles which can perform these activities.

Editing Course Category

Main wikipage: Course Category

Authorizes users can edit the course category in following ways:

  • Adding new category by typing the name of your new category in the text box and click the "Add a new category" button.
  • Renaming an existing category.
  • Create a subcategory by moving new category into an existing category.

Editing a Course Section

  • Turn on edit
  • Click the pencil icon (1 in screenshot below) to quickly rename the section
  • Click the Edit menu (2 in screenshot below) to edit the description and other settings.



To move a course section

  • Turn on editing
  • Click and hold the up/down arrow icon to move the section
  • Drag the section to where you want to position it and let go



To add course sections

  • Turn editing on
  • Click "Add topics" underneath the bottom section
  • Select the number of extra sections you wish and press 'Add topics'



To delete a course section

  • To delete a course section, turn on editing > click the 'Edit' link to the right of the course section you wish to delete and > from the menu that displays, click 'Delete'. You will be prompted to confirm your wish to delete the section and its contents. Note that all activities inside the section and their user data will also be deleted.
