WorldOpp for the Vulnerable (hereinafter, the Project) is the project of WorldOpp tailored to the needs of vulnerable communities worldwide.


Objectives

  • Helping anyone in war zones, at-risk areas, and economically-hurt regions to get employed.
  • Helping entrepreneurs to hire representatives of vulnerable communities.
  • Helping anyone for whom to find income is a significant challenge.

Target audiences

Target participants

Those who are willing to go to a college to earn a 4-year or higher degree are proven to be the best target audience. Other target audiences are yet to be identified. Possibly, they include:
  1. Physically and/or mentally disabled;
  2. Crime and/or violence survivors;
  3. Orphans, widows, or widowers;
  4. Home-stay caregivers;
  5. Unemployed or underemployed in war zones, at-risk areas, and economically-hurt regions;
  6. Anyone for whom to secure long-term and meaningful income is a challenge.

Target countries

The following Low-income economies are considered as preferred countries to launch and/or expand the Project:
  • Most desired countries: Kenya, Zimbabwe, Uzbekistan, Malawi, Uganda, Ghana
  • Possible countries: Zambia, The Gambia, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Sierra Leone, Liberia
The country's population size, unemployment rate, Internet penetration, average income, and usage of English or Russian have been used in order to rank.

Granted resources

Entrepreneurship education, paid internships, stipends, computer devices, and startup funding are available for the Project participants at absolutely no cost.

Entrepreneurship education

Bracka Leadership Academy provides the Project's participants with an introductory course for current and/or aspiring entrepreneurs, called Septem Artes Administrativi.
The course features self-paced learning, which is facilitated through available course materials, periodic videoconference meetings, and directed research. The results of this research shall be posted at this CNM Wiki.

A limited number of paid internships are available for the Project participants. They shall work on WorldOpp development mostly using this CNM Wiki.

Stipends

Main wikipage: WorldOpp stipend
A limited number of stipends in the amount of $15 equivalent in the local currency is awarded once a week and usually paid through PayPal. Two types of stipends are available:
  1. Need-based stipends can be awarded for no more than 2 weeks because of low income of the participant or his/her guardian;
  2. Academic-based stipends can be awarded without any limits to participants based on their academic success.

Startup funding

A limited number of grants as startup funding for those participants, who decide to launch their own businesses, is granted every quarter.
