Organizational behavior (also known by its abbreviation; hereinafter, OB) is a field of systematic study that investigates the impact individuals, groups, and organizational culture have on behavior within enterprises, for the purpose of applying such knowledge toward improving an organization's success. In other words, OB studies applications of human sciences to the workplace. Human sciences include psychology, social psychology, sociology, and anthropology.

Definitions

According to Organizational Behavior by Robbins and Judge (17th edition),

Organizational behavior. A field of study that investigates the impact individuals, groups, and structure have on behavior within organizations, for the purpose of applying such knowledge toward improving an organization's effectiveness.
