FriendsOfCNM.com IA describes information architecture for FriendsOfCNM.com website (hereinafter, the Site).


Idea

To create a resource site for potential partners -- business and volunteer. The Site will be a site for individuals or organizations who want to partner in CNMCyber endeavor by either offering their services or support in contributions and grants.

Main page Design

The Site will contain the following features;

  • An introductory video highlighting what Friends Of CNM is and how to enter the program.This will also as orientation for new partners.
  • Some Call to action (CTAs) which direct different users to their targeted landing pages.
  • Header section with search bar, and log in or sign up section.
  • A footer section with contact information such as email Incase users have queries or need assistance.

Website Structure

The Site will have the main page, and links to other pages such as about us page, services page, learners page, employers page,donors page,volunteer.

Site Search

The Site will have a search functionality located on the hheader section. Users can can use the feature to find specific pages easily and fast.The user can type a speficif word and phrase to get to a particular page in the website.

Navigation Menu

The Site will include a navigation menu which will be located on the header of the main page, and this will enable users to get to other features of the Site more easily. The menu will have links to other section including about us page, create account/log in page,CNMCyber.com page, and support page.

Breadcrumbs

The Site will use breadcrumbs to ensure that users know their current location on the website, and also how many steps to take to get back to the main page. The breadcrumbs will be situated at the top of the user's page. For instance a volunteer woould be able to go from main page, volunteer sign, to volunteer services. The Site will mainly use hierarchical breadcrumbs so that users can still go back to a specific stage in exploring the website.


The Friends Of CNM Website will:

  1. Respond to organizations which want to Join the community and become a CNM friend.
  2. Educate prospective learners and employees about services offered by Friends Of CNM.
  3. Link up potential clients to the organizations in the program.
  4. Enhance the services currently being offered by CNM Cyber.com
  5. Highlight
  6. Redirect those consumers looking for career services or employees or any other employment and workforce preparation service to Careerprise.com.
  7. Redirect new users on how to register and get started to Careerprise.com
  8. Launch services not currently offered by CNM but can make use of the CNM cloud
  9. Support the survices offered in the CNM cloud
  10. Discover new services that can included in the CNM Recruitment
  11. Design new services offered by CNM friends.

Hierarchy

The Site will be structured in such a way that users can easily find what they need and are able to interact with featured components and content satisfactorily.

Size

Size is ensures that users are directed on the essential parts of the website, and also reduces the bounce rate of visitors. Generally, users are attracted to words written in larger fonts. Therefore, some components such as the sign up and volunteer section should be more visible by using larger fonts on the navigation menu and also CTAs buttons.
