The Mary Washington Healthcare practices wikipage is created to track some practices that a medical group called Mary Washington Healthcare exercises.

Primary Care -- Dumfries Road

In February of 2021, the Mary Washington Healthcare opened its new primary care location on Dumfries Road in Montclair, VA, while choosing Muna Jama, MD as its provider. Before, the same building was occupied by Health First Medical Center that was run by Naeem Khan, MD.

GAJ first visit

GAJ was a long-term client of Dr. Naeem Khan. Once a year, GAJ commonly visited Dr. Naeem Khan for annual check-ups. GAJ wanted to schedule such a check-up in the fall of 2020, but a receptionist of that time explained GAJ that GAJ's insurance wouldn't cover that check-up. For 2021, GAJ signed in for a better insurance and showed up at the location.
A new receptionist, who was a former member of the previous staff, indicated that Dr. Naeem Khan did no longer practice and the medical center would re-open in February of 2021 under a new leadership. GAJ decided to wait.
In February of 2021, GAJ stopped by to schedule an appointment. The receptionist said that they have some data in the system and asked about the purpose of the visit. GAJ answered that the visit should be similar to the previous ones.
On March 8th, 2021, GAJ arrived to the office. Dr. Muna Jama carefully collected as much personal information as possible and asked about the purpose of the visit. GAJ answered that GAJ expected to do an annual check-up and would like to address some issues related to his back and feet. Dr. Muna Jama replied that the visit is scheduled as a 20-minute consultation and the annual check-up would take more time. She offered to schedule a new visit on a later day. GAJ agreed.
GAJ tried to show Dr. Muna Jama his feet and back, but she didn't take a look and suggested that the issues would be addressed better when GAJ comes back.
Later, GAJ's insurance informed GAJ that that the Mary Washington Healthcare billed the insurance company $97.00 for this visit. From GAJ's perspective, no meaningful services were rendered during this visit and GAJ needs to be paid for the wasted time.

GAJ second visit

On March 8th, 2021, GAJ arrived to Mary Washington Healthcare's Primary Care at Dumfries Road for the annual checkup. After taking a blood sample, Dr. Muna Jama arrived and asked about GAJ's concerns. GAJ mentioned pains in both feet and upper back. Dr. Muna Jama took a look at the feet and asked GAJ to elaborate the concerns. With regard to the:
  • Right foot, GAJ said about pain at the right edge of the big toe's nail. Dr. Muna Jama didn't have any further questions.
  • Left foot, GAJ said about pain between the big toe's last phalange and first metatarsal. Dr. Muna Jama asked GAJ to move the big toe up and down, so GAJ did.
After that, Dr. Muna Jama claimed that GAJ had goats at both feet. She offered steroids and other treatment. GAJ rejected those claims, while saying that GAJ knew goat well since goat was experienced in the past, but new conditions don't look like goat to GAJ and casual goat treatment didn't improve the conditions. Dr. Muna Jama insisted that her professional judgment is that GAJ had goats at both feet.
GAJ mentioned that the left foot experienced some physical damage and proposed to do x-rays. Dr. Muna Jama rejected the idea that any physical damage is a reason since GAJ can move the big toe.
Dr. Muna Jama didn't address the back pain at all. She proposed to schedule a new appointment for review of GAJ's blood test when it arrives, but GAJ asked to mail the results, while suggesting that GAJ can review the results without Dr. Muna Jama. No mailings arrived as of August 14th, 2021.
Later, GAJ's insurance informed GAJ that that the Mary Washington Healthcare billed the insurance company $435.00 for this visit. From GAJ's perspective, taking a blood sample was the only potentially-meaningful service rendered by Mary Washington Healthcare during this visit. However, this service can be billed only if GAJ is provided with its results. The rest was harmful, unprofessional and scam-alike disservice.
