Mentor is someone who possesses a certain area of expertise and who is willing to share this expertise with another person or persons who are willing to learn from the mentor.

According to Organizational Behavior by Robbins and Judge (17th edition),

Mentor. A senior employee who sponsors and supports a less-experienced employee, called a protégé.
