More competent other

A more competent other (also known by its acronym MCO; alternatively known as a more knowledgeable other or MKO; hereinafter, MCO) is a term used in educational psychology and, especially, in the zone of proximal development concept, indicating a teacher, parent, a more knowledgeable peer, or anyone else who can guide the learner.
