Project management system (when the system is software-based, alternatively known as project management software; hereinafter, the System) is the system that is set for project management. Most often, the System is based on a class of end-user applications specifically designed to aid with planning and controlling project costs and schedules.

Learning management system (also known by its acronym, LMS; hereinafter, LMS) is a system for the administration, documentation, tracking, reporting and delivery of educational courses, training programs, or learning and development programs. Usually, LMS is built using learning management software, with which LMS shares its acronym.
