Consensus is consensus (and similarly for Consistency) refers to mechanisms and the property of achieving varied types of agreement on values or coordination of state/entities, typically in the presence of specified failures. As there are precise technical specifications involved for consensus and different types of consistency, the reader is referred to the section on Coordination Properties and to the references [1071, 1072, 1077].
