Earnings is individual's, organization's, or industry's profits in a particular period. Particularly, earnings may refer to one of the following:

• Gross earnings.
• Operating income, known as earnings before interest and taxes or EBIT.
• Taxable earnings.
• Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA).
• Retained earnings.
