Inflation premium

Inflation premium (also known by its acronym, IP), is the premium added to the real risk-free rate of interest to compensate for the expected loss of purchasing power. The inflation premium is the average rate of inflation expected over the life of the security.

Inflation premium (IP). The premium added to the real risk-free rate of interest to compensate for the expected loss of purchasing power. The inflation premium is the average rate of inflation expected over the life of the security.

According to Fundamentals of Financial Management by Eugene F. Brigham and Joel F. Houston (15th edition),

Inflation premium. A premium equal to expected inflation that investors add to the real risk-free rate of return.
