The International Visitor Leadership Program (also known by its acronym, IVLP; prior to 2004, known as International Visitor Program) is a professional exchange program that the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the United States Department of State funds and oversees. United States embassies nominate the participants from different countries, who are brought to the United States for programs that commonly last for three weeks. The participants visit various regions of the country usually starting with Washington, DC, where the international visitors stay the longest time, for 5-6 days.
