Negotiation is a process in which two or more parties exchange goods or services and attempt to agree on the exchange rate for them.

According to Organizational Behavior by Robbins and Judge (17th edition),

Negotiation. A process in which two or more parties exchange goods or services and attempt to agree on the exchange rate for them.

According to Looking Out, Looking In by Adler, Proctor (15th edition),

Negotiation. The sense making that occurs between and among people as they influence one another's perceptions and try to achieve a shared perspective. Fourth stage in the perception process.

According to the ASME EMBOK,

Negotiation. To confer with others in a way that brings about the equitable settlement of a matter.
