Any CNM Cloud Project Coordinator (hereinafter, the Coordinator) is either a(n):

  1. WorldOpp fellow working at WorldOpp Fellow Staff (hereinafter, the Team) of Friends Of CNM; OR
  2. If the position is open and no WorldOpp fellow is available to fill it in, independent contractor,

who administratively supports, virtually and/or onsite, CNM Cloud Project (hereinafter, the Project), which is currently at its CNM Cloud Embryo stage, and owns CNM Servers.

At O*Net Online, the closest occupation is Information Technology Project Manager. A CNM IT Project Coordinator is a corresponding position within the CNM Digital Team.

The Coordinator is expected to assist in development of the following deliverables:
  1. A specific set of software called CNM Cloud. This set is scheduled to be developed in several phases as specified in CNM Cloud Project. The parts that are being currently developed include:

    4. Video-sharing engine called CNM Videos that is available at video.friendsofcnm.org; its separate instance for testing and learning is available at video.next.friendsofcnm.org
    5. Wiki engine called CNM Wikis that is available at wiki.friendsofcnm.org (you are here); its separate instance for testing and learning is available at wiki.next.friendsofcnm.org
    6. Customer relationship management system called CNM Linkups that is available at linkup.friendsofcnm.org; its separate instance for testing and learning is available at linkup.next.friendsofcnm.org

    Particularly, the Coordinator may (a) arrange developers' meetings, (b) assist in hiring new developers and keeping the already hired ones engaged, (c) test those pieces that are developed, as well as (d) document those requirements that both the Team and developers would use.
  2. Contracts with those vendors that shall support those parts of CNM Cloud that have been developed. Particularly, the Coordinator may assist in (a) identifying and documenting requirements for the supporting vendors, (b) sourcing, selecting, and onboarding new vendors, and (c) keeping the already hired vendors complying.
  3. Contracts with those employees who shall manage CNM Digital, which include those services that are based on CNM Cloud. Particularly, the Coordinator may assist in (a) identifying and documenting requirements for the employees, (b) sourcing, selecting, and onboarding new employees, and (c) keeping the already hired employees performing.
  4. Curricula that are efficient in enabling users and vendors of CNM Cloud, as well as new employees serving CNM Digital. Particularly, the Coordinator may assist in (a) development of the learning materials such as texts, graphics, and videos, (b) testing the developed materials, as well as (c) helping the learners to get through those materials.
  5. Organizational structures that are efficient in organizing users', vendors', and employees' performance.

Areas of operations

Documenting

In order to develop the target deliverables, the Team needs help with two types of documentation:
  1. Organizational documentation for the Team. This type may include:
    • Minutes for meetings of the Team so all the developers know what progress on the project is and what primary plans are.
    • Processes and procedures developed for and used by the Team so all the developers know how they shall learn their tasks and ways to submit their deliverables.
    • User experience feedback on the Team's materials and resources, so the Team would be able to include new tasks on their product backlog.
  2. Technical documentation for both CNM Digital and CNM Cloud, so the developers and users can learn the details, as well as product managers can use this documentation as reference points.
Particularly, the Coordinator:
All the types of public documentation shall be maintained at the CNM Wikis, so any Team's stakeholder, and a volunteer especially, be able to find needed information. All the types of private documentation shall be maintained at the CNM Labs.

Meeting organizing

The Team views meetings as vital tools for development of the target deliverables and hiring its developers. Thus, the Team needs help with organizing of two types of meetings:
  1. Meetings of the Team, which can be either open or close to the general public.
  2. Hiring events for the Team.
Those meetings that are open to the general public can be organized using partner meetup groups such as Tech Fellowships and Hands-On Training.

Owning the role

In order to develop the target deliverables, the Team needs help with further development of the Coordinator's role. This includes both:
  1. Creating and editing general instructions, policies, and/or recommendations for the Coordinators.
  2. Contributing to and grooming of the backlog of the Coordinator's tasks.

Partnership building

In order to develop the target deliverables, the Team needs help with sourcing, selecting, and onboarding partners such as employers, training providers, governmental, and non-profit organizations.

Personnel managing

In order to develop the target deliverables, the Team needs help with employee and contractor time tracking, as well as helping employees to develop their personal plans.

Project support

In order to develop the target deliverables, the Team needs help with supporting its projects such as CNM Registration Project.

Public relations administering

In order to develop the target deliverables, the Team needs help with drafting Friends Of CNM newsletters.

Recruiting

In order to develop the target deliverables, the Team needs help with sourcing and onboarding of new employees and/or contractors. Particularly, the Coordinator:
  • Organizes procurement of software after the CNM Cloud requirements and those solution requirements that are related to the specific software are approved.
  • Develops the procurement process that shall utilize CNM Labs as the place of transfer of the developed software from the vendors to Friends Of CNM.
  • Sources, selects, and onboards vendors, contractors, and/or employees;
  • Solves emerging problems and arranging the negotiated payments.

Testing

In order to develop the target deliverables, the Team needs help with user experience testing of its materials and services. Particularly, the Coordinator can test whether:
  • Employees understand what results are expected out of their performance and how to communicate their challenges with their customers.
  • Vendors understand what they are expected to produce and how to transfer their deliverables to the Team.
  • Customers understand how to take advantage of the Team's operations.
The results of this testing shall be well-documented using:
  1. Discussion pages when CNM Wikis are tested; OR
  2. Emails when anything, but CNM Wikis, is tested.

Training facilitating

In order to develop the target deliverables, the Team needs help with facilitating of three types of training:
  1. Onboarding training for new employees and contractors.
  2. Technology hand-on-training for those who would like to explore CNM Digital and/or CNM Cloud.
  3. Mentor-protégé program for some Team recruits.

Sourcing

Sourcing of potential candidates is an ongoing endeavor, which cannot be limited to the following channels and tools.

Channels

The channels are yet to be developed. The CNM IT Project Coordinator wikipage may or may not be taken as a starting point.

Marketing materials

The marketing materials are yet to be developed.

Onboarding

The promising Coordinators shall take two or three steps in order to onboard:
  1. Get graduated from the WorldOpp Orientation.
  2. If they are not familiar with project administration, get graduated from the WorldOpp Placement.
  3. If they are familiar with project administration or when they are, perform activities described in the Areas of operations.
