Standing operating procedures

For Event organizer or Cyber coordinator

To organize the event before it starts, you need to:
  1. Find this and CNMCyber Guided Tours pages;
  2. Agree on a topic and speaker with Gary;
  3. Create the meeting on CNM Jitsi. URL should look like is jitsi.cnmcyber.com/cnm-[COTS product] such as jitsi.cnmcyber.com/cnm-wordpress (CNM Jitsi working now at the link https://jitsi.bskol.com/) and add this to the event on Meetup. There may be problems with CNM Jitsi, so you should have more than 1 alternative video conferencing platform, preferably one internal and one external such as Zoom or Google meet;
  4. Create the page of this meeting on wiki. It includes a short description of the meeting subject and links to predecessor and successor events, and to Category:CNMCyber_Guided_Tours;
  5. Invite other coordinators and the speaker to join the meeting.
During the meeting you need to:
  1. Be not only a participant but also the host of the event, it include:
    1. connect to the meeting at least 5 minutes before it begins;
    2. switch on the recording of the meeting in CNM Jitsi and in a second another program (read more below Record);
    3. welcome participants;
    4. let participants know that the meeting is being recorded;
    5. familiarize participants with the sample schedule;
    6. introduce participants;
    7. announce the current sections of the meeting;
    8. close the meeting;
  2. Record of the meeting. You can use this function in CNM Jitsi, Zoom, or Google meet and have at least 2 alternative programs to record just in case such as Xbox Game Bar or OBS Studio, and you should use 2 programs in parallel, for example, recording in CNM Jitsi + Xbox Game Bar (more details: issues). To enable the recording function in CNM Jitsi:
    1. start the meeting as moderator;
    2. press the three-dot button;
    3. press the "press record" button;
    4. choose the part of the screen;
    5. press the "close access" button if you want to close the meeting, wait until the file is saved and just after that you can close the meeting in CNM Jitsi.
After the meeting, you need to:
  1. Publish the recording on our YouTube channel and on CNM AVideo https://tube.cnmcyber.com/. You also should write a description of the video;
  2. Share this video of this meeting on the wikipage that was created earlier. The wikipage also shall be composed to include all available data of and about the Event including its minutes, as well as organizing lessons learned;
  3. Share this video on the product page of this COTS in Presentations section, for example, CNM Jitsi;
  4. Report on the series of events held, for example, meetings on the topic of one COTS on the CNMCyber Users group. It can include videos of these meetings;
  5. Edit this and CNMCyber Guided Tours pages;
  6. Add useful information to the CNM Social CNMCyber Event Organizers group about organizing events.

For speaker:

To present COTS product you need to show on your presentation the wiki documentation and some of the settings -- server directories, admin access, and user face. You should tell and show how it works. A more detailed description of what is to be told: here and here.

Time details

The online Events shall start any time between 9am and 3pm EST (American East Cost), which is 4pm and 10 pm EAT (Eastern African Time) and so on. However, no two Events can be planned simultaneously. The Host who organizes the particular Event is supposed to check the calendar of the Meetup group and the CNM Social group in order to comply.
Online events are one hour long.

Hands-on assignments

Hands-on assignments that CNM learners can try to create the event.

Presentations

Presentations that present the event to its new users in multimedia, video, just audio, and/or just graphic formats.

Videos and audios

The Wiki publishes all the content of the Event including its specific agenda, minutes, and all available recordings. The recordings will also be published on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/@worldopp6393 and CNM AVideo https://tube.cnmcyber.com/ in order to be available to the general public.

Texts and graphics

The Wiki publishes all the content of the Event including its specific agenda, minutes, and all available recordings, and the links to the recordings are published on CNM Social https://social.cnmcyber.com/s/cnmcyber-users/ in order to be available to the general public.

Security

For security, we use Fail2ban because it operates by monitoring log files (e.g. /var/log/auth.log, /var/log/apache/access.log, etc.) for selected entries and running scripts based on them. Most commonly this is used to block selected IP addresses that may belong to hosts that are trying to breach the system's security. It can ban any host IP address that makes too many login attempts or performs any other unwanted action within a time frame defined by the administrator. Includes support for both IPv4 and IPv6.
Calls use the P2P mode, which is end-to-end encrypted via DTLS-SRTP between the two participants for encrypted communication (secure communication). Group calls also use DTLS-SRTP encryption, but rely on the Jitsi Videobridge (JVB) as video router, where packets are decrypted temporarily. All data is transmitted only through our server, and comprehensive TLS encryption provides protection against interception and unauthorized eavesdropping.

Malware protection

Previously, CNM Cloud developers struggled with the viruses, so an effective anti-virus strategy must be found -- what was the solution?

User group

The user group on CNM Social CNMCyber Users publishes all the announcements and notifications for online Events. The group at CNM Social CNMCyber Event Organizers publishes all the recommendations for online Events. The group at CNM Social Welcome to CNMCyber publishes all the recommendations for new members.
