CNM Cert Course (hereinafter, the Course) is a brief course designed to introduce its learners to CNM Cert, which a learning management system (LMS) that is built on one instance of the Moodle software. CNM Cert belongs to CNM Competency Suite of CNMCyber's services.

CNM Competency Suite is web-based managed learning environment (MLE) that CNMCyber Team designs and the Friends Of CNM delivers to the general public as a collection of services in education.


Moodle Vs CNM Cert

Moodle is open-source modular e-learning software written in PHP and distributed under the GNU General Public License. Developed on pedagogical principles, Moodle is used for blended learning, distance education, flipped classroom and other e-learning projects in schools, universities, workplaces and other sectors.

The name is an acronym for Modular Object-Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment. With customizable management features, it is used to create private websites with online courses for educators and trainers to achieve learning goals.

Moodle (hereinafter CNM Cert) is the learning management system of the Career Network Ministry (CNM). The Cert is the service of CNMCyber that allows for learning and certification management. CNMCyber Team designs and the Friends Of CNM delivers the Cert to its users at absolutely no cost. This Service is not available to the general public; only those users who have obtained the NetConsumer role can access it. A NetConsumer is an aspirant also known as NetAnyone who has submitted his or her email address to CNMCyber. The 'Cert' system is built on Educaship Moodle. Being part of Opplet, the software particularly includes:

  1. One instance of Moodle, which is e-learning software; and
  2. One instance of KSA Certs, which is the special part of Opplet.net that handles examination questions.

In this course we are going to look at CNM Cert itself, roles available in CNM Cert and learning activities. Under learning activities, we are going to take a look at course set up, course enrollment, progress tracking, access restriction and how to create and manage quizzes on CNM Cert.

CNM Cert User

To become a CNM Cert User, one needs to submit their credentials to CNM Cabin.

Learning Activities

Learning activities are something a learner does for his or her learning. These activities include classroom type activities and are helpful to system users such as teachers and students to perform tasks of their interests. For example for group discussion; a teacher can set up a Forum or to work on the same project as a group, a teacher can set up Wiki for his/her students. The Learning Activities discussed in this course are listed in the Outline table and are sectioned according to their types.

Outline

This Course is made up of several learning activities sectioned as :
  1. System Roles This section discusses about various user Roles which can operate on Cert. These include Administrator, Manager, Student, Teacher and Course Creator. Each role has different capabilities.
  2. Set up and Manage Course - including various activities related to Setting up a course in Cert and all of the operations that could be performed to Manage a course . In addition, operations are also specified in terms of corresponding Roles
  3. User Management- This section is concerned with activities related to each instance of user at CNM Cert. It also describes setting certain constraints and permissions accordingly
  4. Advanced Features-This section discusses operations related to Advanced System Features which are accessible to privileged roles i.e. Administrators and Managers.
  5. Other Activities-This section discusses other available user activities at Cert. These are mostly productive such as users interaction at the platform

Goals

Primary Goals this course are:
  1. To give Users a full knowledge of activities available at the platform and to find activities of their interest. It is helped by comprehensive texts and demonstrations for ease of learning.
  2. For aspirants to get Hands-on training for the activities available at Cert.
